The first trimester of the school year has come to a close, and over the last few weeks, our students have been waiting with great anticipation to see how well they performed. You can imagine the collective excitement when we learned that six of our students are the very top of their class thanks to the extra tutoring support they have received so far through our Education Program. Half of our top students: Widmie, Wilfred and Estephanie just joined our program this year! Alberson, Olguine and Naika, the remaining half of our top students, have been a part of the program for a few years now, and still shining bright!
At the Saturday Program, we promote an atmosphere of friendly competition, and everyone is working so hard in their classes with the common goal to be the top of their class. We have seen that by instilling a friendly competitive attitude, our students are becoming increasingly motivated.
So far, this year, our Saturday Program Coursework has been a great hit. The students report that they are particularly enjoying the Business Course, more specifically the seminar on “Planning and Setting Goals.”
We are also so proud to see our recent Elev Education Program Graduates, Lovely and Rony, excelling in REBUILD globally’s 9-Month “Lavi Job Training Program,” where they are learning how to prepare for the workforce, and become successful employees at deux mains. Stay tuned for their full progress report in the coming months!
We are so proud of our students, and are very pleased with the start of 2018. Our recent graduate, Rony, who is now participating in the Lavi Job Training, wanted us to pass this message to you, the donors, directly: “Remember, your efforts and donations are what allowed us to get a good education. This is not a small thing. It is an act of kindness that will continue through our development in life and to the development of Haiti. We have already become great resources for Haiti and are ready to share what we have learned with others and make Haiti a better place.”
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
