We got our Kay Anj kids grades about a week after Christmas break began. The kids asked daily when the grades would be coming? We're not sure if that was a good thing or not!
The grades were in...Floumens and Guerdy were tops in their respective classes! A 6.0 out of a 10 point scale is a passing grade. Most of our children scored a 6.0 or better. A few did not score the needed 6.0. We will meet with teachers and the school director to ascertain if there is anything different we should be doing to help those who are not passing.
We will continue with our tutors helping the children who are behind. They come Monday through Friday after school and work with the kids for two hours. It's a very long day for the kids as they rise to get ready, eat and prepare for their school day at 4:30 a.m. They arrive home on the school bus at 2:30 p.m. and then have their tutoring sessions for a couple hours. We pray they understand the gift of education. We believe that most of our children do understand the importance of their education. Especially in Haiti.
Thank YOU for your continued support, love and prayers for our Kay Anj children. Because of you they are in one of the best schools in Cap Haitien.
