Bonjou everyone,
We want to update you on our Kay Anj Orphanage children after their first year at the Susan Schuenke School in Cap Haitien, Haiti. As you all know the school is a challenging school taught completely in French. When our children took their entrance exams last year they did not do well. And why should they? They'd never been taught French.
Thanks to all of you and your gifts of tuition, uniforms, school supplies and prayers our 42 children finished the school year on June 19th! We excitedly went to school on June 24th to pick up report cards. Eleven of our beautiful kids did not pass to the next grade. The primary reason was that they stuggled with French. As a result we have decided to hire French tutors for the summer. They will work only with the 11 who did not pass. We're praying that this will bring them up to speed and they'll have a successful year beginning in September.
Please see attached photos. Fourteen teens from the U.S. traveled to love our kids the week we got report cards. They made a "tunnel of Love" for all of the kids! The kids loved it!!
