Dear Donors,
Greetings from IDEA Foundation!
As you know, we are working with children from rural areas in Pune. Majority residents in these areas are financially challenged and do not understand the importance of education, hygiene, and sanitation.
Total 195 children are received academic guidance & opportunities through our special educators and teachers from 5 community-based study centers and 3 remedial education centers in 3 schools in last academic year.
In this year, we have reached 2 new Katkari communities namely Siddheshwarnagar & Tambhad Katkari community. We have completed a family survey of both communities and gave stationary material for 21 students of these 2 communities school going students. Also, we have conducted puppet making activity in these 2 communities to establish rapport with new Katkari people and students.
Here we use a holistic approach. Our activity based learning methods create interest in children towards education and attending school regularly. We give more importance to art and craft and games which are really helping children to identify their hidden talents. We use science kits and other educational aids. Children learn by doing the experiments. We encourage children to help us in making the teaching aids. In addition to this, we have started e-learning classes for these children.
To keep the interest of the children and to make them attend school, our instructors and special educators have to understand each child and their family back ground. They often go to the communities and meet the parents and keep encouraging them to send the children to school. We provide the necessary school stationeries and uniforms too. There is a remarkable improvement in the school attendance of children from Katkari communities and Migrant communities.
Thank you, dear friends, for all your support so far. Please continue to support us.
