Dear friend,
Greetings from IDEA!
A very big thank you for your continued support to the holistic development of many underprivileged children! Needy children whose families struggle to provide 2 square meals a day have found IDEA study centres – a safe sanctuary where they come to learn and to enjoy life!
As you know, along with focus on improving their fundamental learning skills (Reading, Writing & Comprehension), we also strive to bring out their hidden talents through various Art & Craft activities. Many life skill sessions and exposure visits are also conducted for their all-round development.
In the run-up to Diwali - festival of lights, children enjoyed drawing, colouring, making masks, wall hangings and the most important of all - colourful lanterns to celebrate the spirit of Diwali. They decorated their study centres with their hand-made crafts on the occassion of Diwali parties conducted by their study centre teachers.
Like every year, we conducted story – telling workshops where children were given many story books to read out aloud. Afterwards, they are asked questions on the stories and were encouraged to discuss the morals of each stories. So they get value-based education while also having fun!
Another reason for excitement was – TABLET – A magazine for the children, by the children! This magazine is the testimonial to the impressive progress of our study centre children. It is their creation, right from the art-work to the content – poems, stories, essays and tasty recipes. Seeing their poems and essays featured in the magazine filled the children and their parents with pride!
Diwali is celebrated with much fan-fare in India, there are lights, people buy new clothes and eat the best sweets. But there are many families who spend the festival in darkness. This Diwali, with the help of many generous donors like you, we gifted the study centre children – sweets, snacks, educational games and festive clothes.
Thank you, dear friend, many underprivileged children are moving from darkness towards the light of knowledge because you care!
Please continue donating to this project, there are many more futures to be built!
