When U&I’s volunteer team in Guwahati realized that their students may have to discontinue schooling if they failed 10th grade final exams, they decided to do something about it. They called their new project: Mission Metric.
For every single day for the next two months our volunteers tutored the students before and after school, and sometimes, even during lunch.
The result was spectacular - all our students cleared the final exam with flying colors.
The leadership teams not only managed to run the academic classes, but also managed to create a stronger volunteer community without whom this result would have been possible.
We have now expanded and are starting our third Learning Center in Guwahati - Ila Snehalaya. And we are looking forward to creating a wider impact through the three centers in a part of India where volunteerism has traditionally been minimal.
Thank you for standing with U&I to transform the lives of more than 2000 children across India.
