On U&I’s social media, our volunteers write reports about their teaching experiences. A uniform thread runs through all their stories: these volunteers receive more than they give. That’s in their words. Not ours.
Again and again, these volunteers report that they first went into classes expecting to teach and inspire students. At the end of their stint of nine months, they were amazed by the resilience of the children, inspired by their teachable hearts and motivated to smile through adversities.
U&I is now gearing up to recruit more volunteers for the coming academic year. We have launched our recruitment campaign for 2019-2020. This year, we expect about 2,500 volunteers to join the tribe of U&I change-makers.
We’re excited about the start of the academic year. Our office basement is overflowing with towering textbooks for 2000 students. But more than that we’re excited that our volunteers are such an amazing bunch who are determined to give to the community and also vulnerable enough to receive from the children. We are excited about today's changemakers who empower tomorrow's leaders.
