To prevent issues of sexual violence that often happens during a high school student's gap year, I designed The Leadership Development and Entrepreneurship Program (LDEP). This program is aimed at instilling a variety of skills ranging from entrepreneurship, strengths, careers, and general life skills. Three of our Freely in Hope scholars participated with our partner Garden of Hope Foundation in the Kibera Slums. We kicked off the program in January where they learned so much about their own leadership possibilities to contribute to building a better world.
The progam was a massive success and we just celebrated their graduation! During the graduation, they shared their community projects which included proposals on hygiene and sanitation in slum schools, disposal of radioactive waste to protect the environment, and fighting against violence and insecurity in the rural villages.
We want to appreciate all of the donors, mentors, and facilitators who believed in the vision and participated in the developement of our students. The LDEP scholars supported each other, built each other up, and exchibited a yearning to learn and grow in their leadership to better our world!
Thanks for your support in developing students into leaders!
