We are Healed to Heal

By Eunice | Freely in Hope Scholar

Dear friends of Freely in Hope,
Never would I have imagined that this day would come—I was once in complete darkness and unable to see myself achieve this dream of graduating from college. At 18, I was tricked, drugged, raped, and impregnated—accused of crimes that I did not commit. As a survivor of rape, I once felt that my dreams were shattered and my hope was lost.

But through your gift of education to me, my hope was restored.

As Freely in Hope’s first scholar, I have seen God move in powerful ways in my life. I have changed so much—I am now confident and able to use my story to encourage other survivors when their hope is lost.

I believe that as we all share and help each other, we are healed to heal others.

As I celebrate my graduation with you, may these dreams of healing become a reality—not only for me, but for our community of survivors in Kenya. Through your support, you have given me the courage to dream again. In return, I am giving these dreams back to my community as a volunteer counselor for Freely in Hope. In 2016, I can't wait to see growth in our programs that give more opportunities for survivors of sexual violence to heal and transform together.
Now through Thursday, December 31st, when you start a new monthly recurring donation for a GlobalGiving project, a generous anonymous donor will match your initial gift 100%! Please help us reach our goal to provide more educational opportunities for survivors, like me.
Asante sana (thank you) for partnering with us to end sexual violence,
