I have an exciting announcement! We just finished our very first program that seeks to facilitate mutual respect and end sexual violence. We piloted Eneza (meaning "share it" in Kiswahili) to share the power of making respect known and how this can lead to ending sexual violence in our communities! We trained 100 high students on sexual violence prevention, the meaning of consent, trauma healing, human rights, and resources for survivor support in Kibera, East Africa's largest slum.
The best part is that our Freely in Hope scholars are facilitating these important and necessary conversations around sexual violence for students in the slums! Your support has helped Freely in Hope scholars receive education and leadership development to help them impact other high school students. With huge success in this program, we plan to reach 400 more students this year! Your support is multiplying over 100 x—educating hundreds of students in the communities we serve in Kenya. Thank you!
