NEWS

CONGRATULATIONS, Esnay, Alan and Andres on the celebration of your pre-graduation ceremony in preparation for your graduation from high school in December.

And we are very proud of our students who did volunteer work during the month of May. Such a variety of activities: donating blood, feeding the homeless, visiting homes for the elderly, playing with children at a home, and much more. We invite you check out our “Volunteer Work” album and see our students at work.

HOW YOU CAN HELP THIS MONTH

We are still in need of new sponsors for some of our students, both high school and post-secondary. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and sometimes as little as $20 per month can sponsor a highschool student. Please check out ourSPONSORSHIPpage on our website. OTHER NEWS AND ACTIVITIES:

Daisy, from CIES, joined us again to give a talk on Sexuality and our Life Plan. Thanks Daisy, you always make the talks so interesting.
In May we celebrated Mother’s Day with several of our mothers of the high school students. Roxana and from the International Justice Mission gave us a talk on preventing sexual abuse in children.
Sandra and Pedro from Youth Institute of the Municipalgovernment joined us of the June talk and showed the students how to make an effective CV and take an interview for employment. Everyone was very keen to learn.
Also in June, the Kantutani Foundation here in La Paz came to our office for a full day to check the eyes of our students and their families. for Now in July, the Foundation will be giving out 70 pairs of glasses made to measure at our July meeting.
Lastly, Antoine from France, visited us to include us in his report about social projects in Latin America. Thank you, Antoine.
