Dear Friends,
The radio station is enjoying acclaim and success in its broadcasting. There are 11 staff now with 5 of them full time. Staff meet regularly as in the photo to prepare programming and to add new topics in response to listeners interests or local, national or international events. Broadcasting starts at 8 am and ends at midnight. The estimated listening audience is 1 million! Each day there are at least 10 different programs so in a week 70 programs. There is consistent interaction with the audience through call ins and texting. For example, Fridays have live programs and there was International Peace Day celebrations and current events news and that one program generated 600 calls and text messages!
One of the listeners said, “Mostly I follow educational parts and child psychology programs because the country is improving when it has a good education. If there is no education in a country that country will fall down because a successful country is built on education and the children are the wealth of a country and we must grow up this wealth.”
Please read the attached CHI 2015 Newsletter for information on activities last year.
Thank you for your continuing support for this enterprise which is reaching so many in the Herat area and beyond.
