Dear Friends,
We are so excited to let you know that construction on the third floor of the office building is nearly completed! The exterior of the building has been painted, cabinetry and flooring is installed and the staff is getting ready to move in.
All the necessary permissions for the radio station have been secured, and the station has officially been named Mehrajeh. Staff has been hired to oversee the operations of the radio station, and the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) is developing programming. As soon as the interior of the new offices has been completed, the equipment will be moved into the space and the station will begin broadcasting.
We are looking forward to the station hitting the airwaves in early 2015! The station will give AIL the opportunity to spread information much further afield with lessons about peace, human rights, leadership, health, elections and culture with classical music and news too. Afghans who lived in areas too rural to attend AIL workshops and trainings will now have access to these lessons. Thank you for helping to make this dream a reality. We will be listening in soon!
We have attached our year end newsletter to this report and hope you will take a few minutes to read it.
