What does it take for a young girl to dream of flying—when she’s never left the crowded lanes of her Kolkata slum?
Meet Aleya, a resilient Class VIII student who lives in a tiny one-room home near the railway tracks.
Her father earns 8,000 (US$ 100) per month as a cylce van driver, most of which goes toward her grandmother’s medical care.
Her mother holds the family together with love and grit.
Yet, Aleya dreams of becoming an air hostess—
Not just to fly, but to rise.
To rise above poverty, illness, and limitation.
To rise and be seen.
At Tiljala SHED, we walk with Aleya on this journey. She receives school supplies, mentoring, and the encouragement every child deserves.
Aleya shows up to our centre every evening—disciplined, hopeful, determined.
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
That’s where you come in.
Support a dream. Fund a future. Help Aleya rise.
