As of August 2020, the "Learn at Home II" program began, which is the plan of the Government of Mexico for children to start the school cycle, however, the inequality that has deepened in recent months , it does not allow a good learning, since according to surveys we know that there is little access to the internet, children do not have accompaniment at home to perform tasks and above all, many of them have to increase their working hours for financial support family.
For this reason, Melel Xojobal continues to implement an educational accompaniment where advice is given on various school questions in markets and places so that children can continue solving their homework. In addition, educational scholarships have been supported for girls who do not have sufficient income to continue their studies.
2020 ended up being a year of great uncertainty, concern, concern, but also learning, solidarity and gratitude; We begin this 2021 with the hope of continuing to build a more just society.
Thank you for continuing to be part of the life of working children in Chiapas, together with Melel Xojobal. Happy 2021!
