Within the educational programs offered by the VITAL program, we have implemented the "Life Project" program, aimed at children from 6th to 11th grade of the schools in Puerto Asis. This program is taught in school classrooms in the space designated for the ethics and values class.
The program provides guidance to the children to help them introspect, set goals, work on discipline, help them discover the potential that each one has, look for the answers within themselves and present themselves to all that they can achieve in life in order to succeed and be a positive force in society.
The method used in the program is based on "indoor training", through group games and brain teasers.
The children have reacted very well and we have received very positive feedback from both parents and school administrators where the program is taught by volunteers from our foundation.
The "Life Project" program has impacted 1,500 children from the Alvernia school and 800 from the Ciudad de Asís school.
We have also continued with the sports program, reaching 300 children weekly, both from Puerto Asis and from the villages on the other side of the Putumayo River.
We are participating in the local soccer tournament in the categories U11, U13, U15 and U17.
We have also had recreational excursions to provide them with spaces for integration and entertainment.
We thank GlobalGiving for giving us visibility of the work we do in this needy area of Colombia and the valuable support in our campaigns. Thanks also to all the donors who make this possible.
God bless you all.
