Challenge

Children with disabilities in jinja and neighboring areas in Uganda face major barriers to education, healthcare, and safety . Many families cannot afford school fees or supplies leaving children out of school. Schools often lack inclusive support and children with albinism face health risks without protection gears. Girls with disabilities are at a very high risk of violence and early pregnancy causing school dropouts ,continued poverty and exclusion

Solution

The project removes barriers by providing school fees, uniforms and learning materials so children with disabilities can attend school. It trains teachers in inclusive education and delivers healthcare outreach including sunscreen for children with albinism. Community awareness and protection activities reduce stigma, prevent violence and create safer, supportive environments for children especially girls

Long-Term Impact

The project will increase on school enrollment and retention for children with disabilities targeting at least 70% retention rate among supported children. It will improve health outcomes for 80-100 children and safety, reduced dropouts by 50%, dependence and strengthen inclusion especially girls who will learn, grow and participate fully in the society.
