EDUCATION FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION

EDUCATION FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Education is a basic human right that opens doors for people to lead healthy lives and contribute to their communities. Education can combat the underlying structures of poverty. Acquired basic skills such as reading, writing and numeracy, have a documented positive effect on marginalized populations' incomes.

 Mission

HAO’s focus is collaboration with underprivileged and marginalized communities in an effort to empower them to identify cause problems and enable them to find appropriate solutions to overcome poverty and dependence. We strongly believe that education for such communities is only way to alleviate poverty and dependence.

The Project Funds

From the money we received between November 2020 – March 2022, for our GlobalGiving’s Educating Impoverished Children in Kenya Project, we purchased scholastic materials for 100 pupils in 2 primary schools (Dira and Napeikorei primary schools) in East Pokot. The materials included exercise books, pens, pencils and rubbers. Such scholastic materials go a long way to help these students whom their parents cannot afford to buy them such necessities for education. Lack of books and pens is also a major factor contributing to school drop outs and low school enrolment in the community, because many parents cannot afford.

Mentorship and food aid

From the funds, we also conducted a 2-day mentorship program for Nginyang Girls’ High School students, as well as donating ksh20000 towards their school feeding program.

We at Hifadhi Africa Organization are happy that through your provisions, you touched a life.

Thank you.
