Exciting Changes This Quarter: A New Chapter for Pestalozzi International
This quarter has brought some incredible changes across our campuses and the organisation as a whole, reflecting our commitment to providing education of the highest quality and expanding our impact.
Launching the SkillsHub in Lusaka In July, Pestalozzi Zambia hosted its first-ever roundtable event. This gathering aimed to bring together internal stakeholders, sector experts, and potential partners to refine the new SkillsHub programme in Lusaka. The event focused on addressing the unique needs of marginalised youth in key sectors such as agriculture, ICT, and tourism. Through thoughtful discussions and feedback sessions, we worked to ensure that the programme going forward would be comprehensive, practical, and aligned with the current and future demands of the Zambian economy.
A Unified Future: The Merger with PIF A significant milestone was the merger announcement with Pestalozzi International Foundation (PIF) on Monday, 13th September. This merger represents a strategic decision to amplify our collective impact, combining our rich histories, shared values, and a commitment to providing child-centred education in the Global South.
Inspired by the 18th-century Swiss educator Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi’s "Head, Heart, and Hands" philosophy, we remain dedicated to a holistic educational approach. This merger is not merely a change in name but a bold step towards a future where we can do more, reach more, and change more lives.
Strengthening Our Impact By unifying our resources and expertise, Pestalozzi International is now uniquely positioned to deliver vocational skills and holistic education to some of the brightest children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our mission is to continue providing an education tailored to the local context, promoting economic growth and social mobility.
We are proud to be the only international NGO implementing a modern interpretation of Pestalozzian principles, deeply rooted in the cultures and needs of the communities we serve. These changes mark a leap forward, opening up new opportunities to amplify our impact.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Together, we are turning education into impact and paving the way for a brighter future for every child in our care.
