The close of every academic year brings a lot of anticipation with regard to the academic performance of our students, as well as, excitement of all the new possibilities that together we can create for them, in the coming year. This is also the time when all your support bears fruit in making the Right to Education real for hundreds of vulnerable children!
This year too we have great reason to celebrate as students under our HeadStart programme, came out with flying colours in their SSLC examinations with 93% pass percentage! This is their first step towards creating a future for themselves and their families. 9 out of the top 10 scorers are girls. Aishwarya and Musab secured the first place with both scoring a studendous 95%!
In the academic year 2015-16 facilities at our centers were enhanced with the acquiring of language lab software and additional computer systems, giving a boost to digital literacy and English language skills focus. Centers were equipped with state of the art laboratory facilities that helped them go beyond their textbooks and gain deeper understanding through experiential activities. This added value to our sessions and contributed tremendously to improving their learning levels. This combined with their determination and hard work helped them achieve such great results. Without your support we wouldn’t have been able to provide students access to such facilities and opportunities. Your contribution plays an extremely important role in their success!
‘‘I’m very happy with my results! I still have a long way to go, but I’ll work towards my dream with more determination now!” exclaimed an exhilarated Aishwarya, our topper. Student of a Municipal Corporation run school, she lost her father last year, putting the responsibility of educating her and her sisters, on her mother’s shoulders. Her mother now works to make ends meet. Among the top 3 scorers in all of Corporation schools in Bangalore, she has also secured the highest marks scored in SSCL exam in the history of her school! In the words of her Social studies teacher at school, “Aishwarya is extremely bright and ambitious, she is the pride of our school and all of us teachers!” The facilitators at DSF are always appreciative of her hard working and sincere nature. Determined to make a mark for herself, she aspires to become an IAS officer. We look forward to making her dream a reality, along with your support!
It is the sheer hard work of students combined with the efforts of teachers, volunteers, donors and parents, which brings about breakthrough performances and stupendous results! Your partnership not only supports us to change the current reality of our students, but their families as well! We thank each one of you for your support in making the Right to Education a reality for deserving students and look forward to a continued association!
