Summary

Village Vision Care is establishing three education and skills training wings in Uganda: early childhood, primary school, and vocational training for 50-90 vulnerable children and 50 youths, including PWDs, regardless of religion or background. The centers provide classrooms, school supplies, meals, and practical skills in tailoring, baking, agriculture, and technology to empower children and youth toward self-reliance and a brighter future.

Challenge

In Uganda, vulnerable children and youth, including orphans, children from extremely poor families, and those with disabilities (PWDs), regardless of religion or background, face long, risky journeys, too overcrowded classes, low-quality schools. Many families cannot afford education, school supplies, or vocational training, leaving children and young mothers trapped in un employment, poverty with limited opportunities for learning and self-reliance.

Solution

Village Vision Care (VVC) will provide three separate centers: an Early Childhood Wing, a Primary School Wing, and a Skills Training Wing. Children and youth will receive safe classrooms, school supplies, nutritious meals, and practical vocational training in tailoring, bakery, crafts, agriculture, and basic technology etc. Girls will also receive menstrual support. The program ensures children stay in school, gain skills, build confidence, and become self-reliant and employable.

Long-Term Impact

Children and youth will complete school, gain skills, and develop confidence and self-reliance. Girls will be supported to avoid early pregnancy and menstrual challenges. Vocational programs including embroidery, coffee growing, bakery, tailoring, knitting, welding, poultry, and milk cows etc. will generate income to sustain the centers. Graduates will secure jobs, start businesses, break poverty cycles, and strengthen their communities.
