Education can change a child's life, but many students in Sierra Leone face financial barriers that make it difficult to stay in school. This project supports students from Nursery School through College with tuition, school supplies, uniforms, books, meals, tutoring, mentoring, computer training, and classroom resources. By removing barriers to education, we help students stay in school, succeed, and build brighter futures.
Sub-Saharan Africa faces a significant education exclusion challenge, with alarming statistics revealing a lack of access to education. More than one-fifth of children aged 6-11 are out of school, with one-third of youth aged 12-14 facing a similar fate. Alarmingly, almost 60% of youth aged 15-17 are not attending school, as per UNESCO data in 2021. Addressing this urgent issue is crucial, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in our pursuit of empowering future leaders.
Our project takes a multifaceted approach to enhance education access. We equip classrooms, offer tuition support, provide school supplies, books, transportation, computer training, and nutritious school meals. These efforts reduce illiteracy rates and the likelihood of students dropping out. We believe that education is a proven path to alleviating poverty and driving lasting change. Quality education is a fundamental human right, and by providing it, we empower beneficiaries to become leaders.
Our project is not just a short-term fix; it represents a profound and enduring investment in the future. By offering quality educational opportunities to children and youths, we equip them with the tools to rise above poverty and become independent, informed decision-makers. This, in turn, enables them to make significant contributions to their families, communities, nation, and the world. Education reduces poverty and brings lasting empowerment and definite change.
