Educate 80 street working children in Guadalajara!

From June through August, the activities of the project “Let’s Educate 80 Child Street Workers in Guadalajara!” focused on strengthening the retention of children and adolescents in protective environments, promoting their educational, emotional, and social development through psycho-pedagogical, educational, and recreational activities.

Among the main actions carried out, the following stand out:

• Continued educational support: Throughout June, educational activities and psycho-pedagogical support continued, with assistance tailored to each participant’s needs. Academic skills and habits that support their retention and academic performance were reinforced.

• Recreational and integration activities: Throughout the period, recreational and play-based activities were conducted to strengthen social interaction, teamwork, respect, and communication among participants, fostering positive relationships within a safe environment.

• Strengthening socio-educational skills: Activities were developed focused on recognizing and expressing emotions, peaceful conflict resolution, self-esteem, responsibility, and decision-making. These initiatives contributed to the development of the personal and social tools necessary to function positively in different settings.

• Summer activities: During July and August, educational, cultural, recreational, and psycho-pedagogical activities were implemented to keep participants engaged in learning and social environments during the summer break. Learning was promoted through participatory group dynamics and activities tailored to the ages and interests of children and adolescents.

• Individual and group follow-up: Participants were monitored through attendance records, progress observations, and support from the MAMA A.C. team, which helped identify educational needs and areas requiring greater attention.

The initiatives carried out during this period helped strengthen educational opportunities and the overall well-being of the participating children and adolescents, providing them with safe spaces where they can learn, socialize, and develop life skills.

MAMA A.C. will continue working to ensure that children and adolescents working on the streets in Guadalajara have access to educational and protective spaces that promote school retention, the development of their abilities, and the exercise of their rights.
