What you give when you give: Meet 3-year-old Stacy, the newest addition to our school
When Stacy’s mother died, she fell into the care of a young, undereducated, overworked aunt. The aunt, struggling to support herself and unprepared to take on the role of motherhood, had little choice but to leave Stacy alone with her alcoholic boyfriend when she went to work at a local bar. The arrangement led their neighbors to approach us and ask us to intervene on Stacy’s behalf. We met with Stacy's aunt and, thanks to your support, are now providing Stacy with a safe, nurturing home and access to one of the best academic programs available in our region.
This Thanksgiving season, we are thankful for YOU, our donors. It is your generosity and compassion that allow us to open doors of opportunity to Stacy and more than 200 other orphans and vulnerable children like her.
Please consider including Stacy and the rest of our kids in your end-of-year giving, beginning tomorrow with Giving Tuesday, a day of charitable giving on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As our project page indicates, it takes less than $1 a day to provide Stacy and each of our other children with a quality education, a nurturing home, food, and medical care. Your contributions -- of any size -- truly make a difference in the lives and futures of our kids. Thank you for making that difference!
With gratitude and best wishes for a joyful holiday season,
The Margaret Okari Children's Foundation Team
