Meet Sana – DIL UK Mehran School Graduate
Sana had always been a confident student in her school. She completed her Matric from DIL UK Mehran School in 2014 with an A grade in board exams and then went on to receive an Access Micro Scholarship from iEARN & Society for International education (Access Karachi) for a two year English language program.
Sana has always been eager to teach, so much so that she started teaching in a local private school when she was taking her Matric board exams. She taught Science, English and Maths to secondary level for 8 months and developed confidence in herself. After completing her course she applied as a teacher at a DIL Primary School where she taught with great spirit. Her students loved her interactive and friendly way of teaching and responded to her positively. When her elder sister got married and she had to look after the household chores because of which she was forced to leave her job. She was upset because she longed to be back in the classroom with her students. After about 2 months there came an opportunity at the same school for an English teacher in the afternoon shift which she was delighted to accept. Now she is able to manage her home in the morning and school in the second shift.
“During my studies, I was always inspired by the teachers at DIL School and I used to idealize them. Now, I myself am a teacher and transferring the same knowledge and confidence I learnt to my students. DIL has given me an opportunity to explore and transform lives.”
DIL has and will continue to work towards achieving this goal of enabling every individual, girl or boy, to realize their right to educ[ation. Our goals are set, but we need your continued help in bringing them to life. On behalf of the school community, students and teachers, DIL would like to extend a huge thank you to all who have contributed so generously.
THANK YOU!
