Educate and Protect 3000 learners in rural Kenya

Over the past few months, our team in Kenya have been extremely busy welcoming an additional 50 rural schools to our project. Each of these schools will benefit from teacher and school leader training; parent workshops; and access to our mobile library.

Here are a few highlights from recent months: 

• We trained 42 volunteer community librarians who will support school library sessions when our mobile library visits. The volunteers had fun practicing how to engage children in shared reading activities and how to support digital learning through tablets. 

• We carried out 71 school visits, where classroom observations were conducted and feedback given to guide teachers on how to make their lessons more child centred. 

• We delivered 8 parent workshops, where 176 parents engaged in discussions on positive parenting and child safeguarding.
