Field schools are a fundamental part of this project as it allows decentralized workshops with women and families in the district Micani. In these workshops, knowledge on gender equality, entrepreneurship and agriculture are passed onto these women and families.
This time we are happy to report that the field schools that comprise this project remain up and running. Many workshops about empowerment, breaking gender roles and entrepreneurship in the family have been already held in 2022. And there are still many more left throughout this year.
On the other hand, after an extensive rain period, we are happy to report that the Tara plants of Tara-producing families of Micani keep on growing each year. Monitoring results showed that not only have these plants been embraced in the family, but also that family businesses are being led by women and men on equal parts. This means that our project goals can be seen in the horizon and planting tara trees can be a gateway for women to reach gender equality within their family and community.
