Child receiving backpack and school supplies.
The school year started in October 2019 in Conakry Guinea, West Affrica and no one could be happier than Fatomata. Her story is nothing short of a miracle, she was abandoned by her mother at the age of eleven and forced to quit school in order to take care of her four younger siblings. Fast forwardto 2019, not only is she in school, but is excelling, going beyond, by taking Summer classes in English and Computer Science. This aspiring young lady's life is nothing short of a miracle. Now she has teachers, mentors and Women Helping Women on her team, helping to secure her bright future. The following is from Fatomata in her own words about her experience with Women Helping Women.
"Without the help of Women Helping Women, I would not have gone back to school, and I'm afraid, because if this help stops, I will not go to school because I do not have anyone to pay for it." Fatomata tells us looking serious. "With the help of WHW, I realize that God had not abandoned me and that hope is still possible for me. Today, I hope to study and become a doctor later. What I would llike most of all is to become a pediatrician and take care of the children, our country, our people need it." She asserts with that glimmer of hope and confidence inher eyes, and that smile that never leaves her. She ends by saying, "I have no words to express my gratitude to Women Helping Women than thanks. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love you give me.
