Happiness is five years old and has been attending Afrika Tikkun Early Childhood Development Program for two years now. What makes Happiness different from most of her peers is that she uses wheelchair to get around. Happiness has a condition known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy. However, we make sure that Happiness is able to overcome all challenges that impedes her development. Our Early Childhood Development Program is augmented by support services that also include Program for Children with Disabilities and Their Families, that allows us to ensure that Happiness is able to access quality education, just like her peers. Happiness recently lost her mother, but her Afrika Tikkun family helped her in every possible way during this difficult time. She will soon be moving in with her grandfather.
Regardless of the many challenges that Happiness had to overcome, she has continued to grow with the help of Afrika Tikkun, and because of the ongoing support from donors like you. She will soon be promoted to Primary School and we are thrilled to see her progress!
We hope that with your continued support, we will be able to help more kids like Happiness in the most impoverished communities of South African townships. The Early Childhood Development Program is the starting point in our ‘Cradle to Career’ Development Model, allowing us to ensure that the foundation of a happy, healthy, functional and productive South African citizen is established.

On behalf of our 20,000+ beneficiaries, I would like to express my deep gratitude for your involvement in our Afrika Tikkun family. Your contribution is helping thousands of disadvantaged children in South Africa.
Warm regards,
Mehdeen Sehgal
