Electricity in Kenya is expensive – it’s two and a half to three times as expensive in Kenya as in the US (currently it’s about 25 ¢/kWh in Kenya compared to about 11 ¢/kWh in the US). Fortunately, sunshine is plentiful and the cost of solar panels has come down significantly.
With funds from our donors, we partnered with the EKI Foundation (https://fundacioneki.org/en/home/) for an interest-free loan to install solar panels at the Rathithi Polytechnic. This clean energy will power our new computer lab and provide lights and electricity for all our classrooms.
This partnership with means we can save money and protect the environment as we provide valuable skills to young people – all made possible with your support! Thanks for helping us power up empowerment!
