Project Report | Dec 13, 2021
2022 will be a crucial year to achieve gender equality

By Thais Malave | Operations Director

We are nearing the end of 2021, a year that has been full of challenges to actively incorporate girls into family and community processes, empower them and provide them with tools to confront inequities.

Many of our projects celebrate the participation and presence of girls, who little by little have been gaining space, ceasing to normalize violence, and adopting daily practices for risk prevention.

From the mountains of Guerrero, through the states of Hidalgo and Puebla, and reaching different communities in the municipalities of Mexico City, we have joined efforts to empower girls and young people; so that they have information about their rights, and they can exercise them, so that they can identify the risks to their physical and emotional health and so that they develop the necessary strengths to achieve a full life.

Through the implementation of replication skills, many girls and adolescents have understood the meaning of being agents of change and impacted their peers by sharing information. We want, with your support, to reach many more, and to support the design of public policies and services that include girls and young people as protagonists and center of these.
This 2021 we conclude with numbers that fill us with joy and that we want to share with you:

84 girls and 62 women in Guerrero have learned about their rights and participated in activities to eradicate child marriage and forced unions.
38 community promoters in Hidalgo are setting up community banks and creating the foundations for the financial autonomy of more women and young people.
353 girls in Vesta (states of Chihuahua, Mexico and Tlaxcala) have information on healthy living and have received civic and ethical training.
203 young women participate in programs for the prevention of youth risk factors and non-communicable diseases, sharing comprehensive health messages in their environment and through social networks.

We want to increase these numbers and reach more places in Mexico; We want more girls to have opportunities for their full development and we look forward to counting on you in this task.

Thank you for being agents of change!
