Dear GlobalGivers,
We are happy to spread cheer and good news during this holiday season!
As we mentioned on our last report we are continuing our work in schools with teachers and students from the Acaxochitlán community.
Our workshop started in August and just concluded with the participation of 35 teachers and 3 head managers from 17 different schools. After the workshop, an activities kit was given to each teacher for them to use during class. These activities kits are a fun way to teach and for students to learn about gender equality and risk prevention, in an interactive way. Of course, our Yo quiero Yo puedo collaborators will be accompanying the teachers during these classroom activities.
Since we are so proud and happy to be carrying out this project, our board members were eager to visit and were finally able to during this last month of November. During their visit they observed classroom activities, met and had conversations with teachers and parents.
For the next phase this last month of the year and continuing into the next one, our team will be working with teachers to adapt the program into their classroom activities. Yo quiero Yo puedo will be there to support teachers and students during this learning (and fun!) process in the following months.
