Dear Esteemed patrons,

Seasonal Greetings and Wish you all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2020 by the entire Board of HEARDS Members, Staff Team and Children!

With the active support from donors like you, Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) project to Education after School downtrodden children has been succeeded to the maximum extent.  We thank you for your entire support for this project and it makes a significant difference among the children and with the parents of these child laborers.

During this year, the project has achieved remarkable results.  I am hereby telling you one good case study of After School Center.  Abhi (name changed) aged 11 years coming from the slum area of Sankaraihgunta in Chittoor. Their family lives in a temporary shelter in a slum named Sankaraihgunta a slum area in Chittoor.  His father Mr. M Prakash (name changed) works in a grinding mill as a machine operator and mother Mrs. Poorna (name changed) is a manual scavenger.  His father addicted to alcohol, which made Abhi to be dropped out of school.    He has never been to school because his parents did not allow him to attend. He says that this hurts him because he would like to be educated.   However, he got dropped out of his school in Class 5 and He doesn’t know how old he is because he has been never been to school but their parents say he is about 11 years old.  He is one of many children who missed school because his parents were leading a poor life.  HEARDS staff have successfully convinced the parents of this child and taken back to our after school center.  During the initial stage, he does not have any plans for his future.  Now we can see Abhi who is brilliant in his studies coming out with excellence in all the tests conducted.  Now he has a good ambition in life and wants to join as police.  If HEARDS is not intervened in his life he might still be working in a tea shop ending his life with lots of regrets.  Happiness and dreams of the mother can be seen in his mother’s eyes regarding her son.

Such success inspires us and helps us to move forward with further determination to eradicate an evil that pulls down the real growth and progress of a nation.  And while we celebrate the success of this nature, let us look at what worked towards achieving this goal. The coordinator who relentlessly work behind these children truly understand the problems they face and closely work with the parents to broaden and change their outlook. This aspect has largely contributed to mainstreaming all the kids, along with, the dedication of the teachers, adapting and implementing new and effective methods, ideas, and suggestions, and great relationships with local Government schools.

At this outset the Board Members and Staff of HEARDS would like to take this opportunity to thank all the esteemed donors like you, many poor downtrodden children get a good education and moral support. Teachers put their effort and commitment to the growth of the after school center. This project really helps the children to get a good education and to learn good habits. In addition, it reduces Child labor, Child delinquency, improves the knowledge, skill, and potentialities, and become useful citizens of the nation.

Thanking you,
