Access to technology and digital education can open doors to opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. For girls in Sierra Leone, developing computer skills is an important step toward greater educational opportunities, career preparation, and future independence.
We are proud to celebrate Hawa, one of the graduates of Develop Africa Sierra Leone Computer School’s Microsoft Office Training Program. After five months of hands-on instruction, Hawa completed the program and earned her certificate, demonstrating her commitment to learning valuable digital skills.
The training introduced students to five essential Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. Participants learned practical skills such as creating and formatting documents, preparing CVs and cover letters, using spreadsheet formulas, developing presentations, managing databases, and designing calendars.
For Hawa, these skills provide a foundation and prepare for future opportunities. Digital literacy is increasingly important in today's world, and girls deserve the same access to technology and training that can help them succeed academically and professionally.
Develop Africa is committed to expanding educational and technology opportunities for girls in Sierra Leone. By investing in their skills today, we are helping prepare them to participate more fully in tomorrow's workforce and communities.
Thank you for helping make opportunities like this possible. Your support helps girls like Hawa gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to pursue their goals and build brighter futures.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
