As we recognize the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17, we want to remind you of something powerful: your support for girls’ education is helping build a future with greater opportunity, independence, and hope.
In Sierra Leone, too many girls face barriers to education because their families struggle to afford school fees, uniforms, supplies, and other essential resources. When a girl cannot continue her education, her opportunities to pursue a career, earn an income, and help support her family may be limited.
Education opens doors to employment and entrepreneurship.
Educated girls can help strengthen families and communities.
Supporting girls today helps create opportunities for future generations.
Through your generosity, girls stay in school, access educational resources, develop digital skills, and work toward their dreams. Every scholarship, school supply, and learning opportunity helps remove a barrier standing between a girl and her potential.
Your generosity does more than help a girl complete school. It is an investment in her ability to build a future with more choices and opportunities.
Thank you for standing with the girls of Sierra Leone and helping make education possible.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
