A single solar light can do more than illuminate a room—it can open the door to learning, confidence, and opportunity.
Through the partnership between SolarBuddy and Develop Africa, students and families in Sierra Leone are receiving solar study lights that help them continue learning long after the sun goes down.
For girls like Christata, a young student in Ogoro, Calba Town Community, having a dependable source of light makes a meaningful difference in her education. Christata is deeply grateful for the solar light she received, which allows her to study at night and spend more time learning, even when electricity is unavailable.
For many students in Sierra Leone, unreliable electricity makes studying after dark a daily challenge. Without adequate lighting, girls may struggle to complete homework, read their lessons, or prepare for important examinations.
A solar study light provides a practical, sustainable solution. It gives girls like Christata the opportunity to continue their education at home, without depending on an unreliable electricity supply or other lighting sources.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to SolarBuddy and our generous donors for making this initiative possible. Your continued support helps provide students like Christata with the resources they need to pursue their education, overcome challenges, and work toward their dreams.
Together, we are helping girls learn beyond daylight hours and creating brighter possibilities for the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
