Girls and young women like Festina and Marie are gaining the digital skills they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and their communities. Recently, they were among the graduates of Develop Africa Sierra Leone’s Microsoft Office Training Program—an important milestone that is helping prepare the next generation of female leaders through technology education.
The training program provided practical instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. These are valuable tools that support academic achievement and are increasingly important in today’s workforce. Through hands-on learning, students developed skills in document creation, spreadsheet management, presentations, and basic database applications.
For many girls, access to technology training can open doors that were previously out of reach. Programs like this help bridge the digital divide and ensure that young women have the opportunity to compete, succeed, and thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Festina and Marie worked hard throughout the program, building both technical skills and confidence. Their graduation represents more than the completion of a course—it represents new opportunities, greater independence, and the ability to pursue future educational and career goals with confidence.
Your support is making these opportunities possible. Because of generous donors like you, young women are gaining access to practical training that equips them with skills they can use throughout their lives. These skills help create pathways to higher education, meaningful employment, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Thank you for believing in the power of girls’ education and for helping Develop Africa continue to invest in young women who are determined to build brighter futures.
Together, we are empowering girls with the knowledge, confidence, and digital skills they need to succeed and lead.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
