Dear Project Supporters
Thanks to YOUR support, in June, we distributed school supplies to 36 girls at the FAWE school in Freetown. Your donations made this possible and helped to cover shipping costs from USA to the school.
The girls were elated to receive the supplies and you can see the excitement and broad smiles on their faces in the photos. They send their deep appreciation to YOU for helping to get these supplies to them.
See more photos of smiling girls with school supplies.
Getting girls in school is one thing. The next best thing that we can do is to ensure that they have the tools needed to learn. Thanks to your kindness the girls have the supplies that they need from notebooks to pens, pencils, sharpeners etc.
By providing these supplies free to the girls we are saving the parents from spending their meager resources in purchasing these supplies.
- Together we are helping to educate girls and educate Sierra Leone.
- Together we are truly helping to ensure a better educational foundation for the women who will be the future leaders of Sierra Leone.
- Together we are helping to reinforce the quality of education that these girls are receiving.
- Together we brought smiles to the face of these precious girls.
- Together we are making a difference.
Thank you, partner!
With much appreciation

Thanks for Helping Marian Stay in School

Marian Receiving the Scholarship
Dear project supporter,
Because of YOUR support girls like Marian are progressing with their education and staying in school. Marian (pictured) is planning to take the promotional National Primary School Exams this spring. Her father is currently unemployed and her mother is no longer doing her small business.
They did not have the resources to cover the exam fees. The family was in a crisis and had nowhere else to appeal for help. She was the only pupil in her class yet to pay her school charges.
Thanks to YOUR support and donations we were able to take care of Marian's exam fees. Your support brought a big relief and smiles to faces of Marian and her family. Marian will soon be taking her exams and proceeding to the next level in her education.
Thanks for supporting this great cause and helping girls like Marian become empowered women. We are truly making a difference!
With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team

Celebrating Women Globally - International Women's Day 2017 - Balu Says "Thank You!"
By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader

Balu is grateful for your support
Dear project partners.
Thank you for your ongoing support in educating girls.
Educated girls become empowered women.
Below is a quote from the UNICEF Millennium Development Goal that affirms and encourages the great task we have undertaken together:
"Advancing the rights of women and children advances humanity.
Many children in developing countries start life without adequate means of nutrition, learning, and protection. Women and girls are particularly challenged.
Uneducated girls are more at risk than boys to become marginalized. They are more vulnerable to exploitation. They are more likely than educated girls to contract HIV/AIDS, which spreads twice as quickly among uneducated girls than among girls that have even some schooling.
As unschooled adults, these girls will be less likely to have a say socially and politically and to be able to support themselves."
That is why we are so very appreciative of YOU and the joint opportunity that we have to educate girls in Sierra Leone. We are together promoting gender equality and empowering women.
Our support is ensuring that they do not drop out of school. We are providing an educational lifeline and helping them to pursue their dreams. We are empowering them together and we are so excited about the future of these girls and also the future of Sierra Leone.
In this report, we share a video from Balu. Balu is very thankful for the continued support she has received. The funds we provided helped to cover her fees and school materials.
Your support is a big part of why Balu is going to complete her education and she is truly thankful. We are so thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in her life!
This Wednesday, March 8 is International Women's Day. We celebrate the achievements of women globally. We congratulate all women globally for the wonderful role that you play - at home and at work. Thank you for your service and leadership. We value and honor you.
