Yara* is a second-year middle school student in Baquba, Diyala. She was always marginalized in the classroom, quiet and withdrawn, and frequently absent. She rarely spoke during lessons, and there were days when she didn't come to school at all. This was the reality of Yara's early educational journey.

This situation began to change with the launch of the "Seeds of Goodness: Back to School" program at her school. The "Girls' Education" initiative is based on the principle that enrolling a girl in school is only the first step. To ensure her continued success, she needs more than just a seat in the classroom; she needs to feel that her voice is heard. Through our organization, the program provides girls in the classroom with life skills and leadership opportunities.

The transformation has been remarkable. Today, Yara is no longer the shy, hesitant girl she once was. She is now a learner who not only participates in every session but also motivates other girls. As the cultural activities coordinator, Asma manages school events with a confidence and poise that seemed impossible just a few months ago.

Asma’s journey is a powerful reminder that education goes beyond academic achievement. It’s about holistic development that ensures a girl’s continued learning and success. Through the “Seeds of Goodness” program, Yara has not only improved her presence but has also equipped herself to face the world with confidence.
