Educate a Girl Child & Gift her a Better Life

Children’s Hope India is proud to offer our Educate a Child program in partnership with Jeev Sewa Sansthan’s Laxmidevi Vikyomal Shroff School and Prerna Kiran Public School, and the Children’s Hope India Girls School in Bhopal, India, whereby donors are matched with a specific child in need of financial resources to support their education. A $200/year donation covers all educational expenses for the child – including school fees, text books, notebooks, stationery, calculator, uniform, and sweater. Donors receive a match letter with details of the child and photograph, along with a “Day in the Life” video and an annual progress report.

In addition to education, the child is provided medical coverage and a mid-day nutritious meal. While in school, students are given remedial education where they need help and coaching for standardized exams, and may even qualify for additional monthly rations in special cases.

Long-Term Impact:

The impact of education on girls is extraordinary. In fact, research has shown that life expectancy rises by 2 years for every 1% increase in literacy. Educating the girl child also positively impacts the economy in which she lives, specifically correlating with increased wages for her, higher GDP for her country, and a stronger community. A 10% increase in adolescent girls in school is associated with as much as a 3% increase in GDP. Education of the girl child is tied to improved health, self-reliance, and increased future opportunities for her. Education sustains human values. It forms the foundation for learning and critical thinking, provides girls skills to become more self-reliant, and opens doors to greater opportunities.
