Dear friends and supporters of EDAPO family in Uganda,
Greetings from members, management staff and children!
We thank you deeply for your continuous support to EDAPO organization and her children, your other children in Uganda.
Words cannot express how deeply grateful EDAPO is! Because of you, EDAPO is improving the level of care for its 618 orphans, by organizing foster homes and providing free education, by distributing food, clothes and books to orphans; as well as ensuring their regular medical care and making it possible for EDAPO children to have two meals a day. We sincerely thank you beyond words for your previous support-to-date.
We are proud of you and are always pleased working with the great wonderful you! Using this opportunity, permit me to inform you that EDAPO has a big challenge that requires both your advice and urgent intervention.
EDAPO is in urgent need of support to buy food, medicine and scholastic materials for orphans. As you may know, from previous progress reports, with the support of friends and well-wishers, for the last four years, EDAPO has managed to run an Agriculture project, principally through planting maize and beans. This project allowed EDAPO to solve major challenges, including providing food for orphans, both at school and at home; food for teachers at school, and funds for buying scholastic materials and paying the teachers' salaries.
Struck by drought this season, things haven’t gone well at all! After heavy investment in the farming process: preparing the land, planting and weeding, for the first time the crops completely failed—in other words, EDAPO harvested nothing!
Good news is that: Some well-wishers have already supported EDAPO to make it possible to buy seeds for planting the new crop and Others Donated soil fertilizers; we have much hope it will enable EDAPO to stabilize the situation, allowing EDAPO to continue growing in self-sufficiency.
However, feeding children, buying medicine and scholastic materials for orphans at this moment in time remains a very big challenge. In this regard, EDAPO members are making efforts to arrest this situation and are therefore requesting for any possible support from friends and well-wishers worldwide. In addition, please kindly tell your friends about EDAPO project and Global Giving to help expand the network of supporters.
