We have really exciting news and progress to report that we now have three more young people attending college.
F, a young man, is attending Saint Lawrence University in Kampala Uganda for business and computer training.
In Kenya, O and A, are studying IT and accounting at a college near the Rift Valley. These young women graduated from S6 in Tororo, Uganda in 2008 and have been working throughout Kenya, their home country, for the last six years.
The Riverfund has supported these children and their education and helped their families since they were quite young. We first met them in 2001! F was a little boy and still at his mother's skirts. O and A were not yet in secondary school but had travelled a long distance to attend school in Eastern Uganda.
The funds we received in early 2014 enabled us to send 600 children back to school. We purchased and distributed the scholastic material to the children registered across the project areas. These children are happy and excited to be in school and without our help they simply could not attend.
Thank you for your help!
We will need additional funds to continue to send children to school and to keep them in school for as long as possible. One extra year of secondary school can increase a girls future earning by as much as 25%!
