Dear Donors and Friends,
As the children, many who are orphans or other vulnerable children, begin returning to school after the holiday break in Eastern rural Uganda, we continue to be in need of enough funds to get them back to school with what they need to succeed.. We are sending 558 children and young adults back to school this week. When the children gather to pick up their uniforms and supplies, hundreds more children show up hoping for education / school support as well. These kids are orphans or other vulnerable children. It is important to keep them in school for as long as possible, especially the girls.
According to the World Bank, one extra year of secondary school increases a girl's future wages by up to 25%!
Please see the attached budget from our partners in Eastern Uganda. It includes details of how many children and in which gourp / village they live. The village school are in Amonakakine, Nambogo, and rural Busia, Bugiri and Tororo. The majority of these children are living in very rural areas without running water or electricity. Many of them deal with hunger every day.
Please join us in giving these kids a brighter future.
Thank you so much!
