LIVING HOPE GROUP TORORO-BUGIRI TORORO

May, 2026

QUARTERLY REPORT FOR MAY, 2026.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Living Hope Group is a group in Uganda covering Tororo and Bugiri districts which receives funds from the River Fund foundation to give educational support and the welfare of the children at school.

In this group, there are a total of 50 students, 15 boys and 35 girls and the six (6) students who joined university have been replaced with 6 pupils in primary as the program only supports from primary to secondary level.

1.2 AIM OF THE PROJECT

The primary aim of the project is to ensure that children both in primary and secondary levels of education are able to access and sustain their schooling without interruption. This is achieved through the provision of essential educational and personal support items. In addition, the project emphases mentorship as a key component in guiding students towards positive behavior, academic focus and life skills development.

1.3 PAYMENT OF FEES

This term we have paid school fees, paid lunch, and bought school requirements to all pupils and students

1.4 SCHOOL VISITS

Regular school visits are conducted by mentors as part of the group’s monitoring and support strategy, these visits are essential in assessing the students ‘academic progress, general wellbeing and living conditions while at school, through these interactions, mentors are able to identify any challenges faced by the students and provide guidance or intervention where necessary. The visits also serve as source of encouragement and reassurance to the children, strengthens their confidence and sense of belonging within the program.

1.5 ACHIEVEMENTS

     As the Living Hope Group members our children have benefited a lot from River Fund as to the outlined points below;

As a result of the dedication and generosity of our funders to our children, we have realized good performances amongst all the sponsored children and this credit all comes back to our funders.

The mentors have encouraged children to have moral behaviors like discipline, abstinence more so for this young generation of today, more emphasis has been put on the children to study harder since they provided with the all the necessities for school.

The parents of our children have also done the work of mentorship to their children and this has made the activity/work easier and this includes monitoring these children while at schools and their homes thus this is improving the children’s standards of education.

We were able to provide children with books, pens & pencils and pay feeding fee as requirements at their respective schools and school fees were paid for them.

1.6 RECOMMENDATION

The mentors should mobilize and sensitize children/students on peer education.

The parents and the mentors should continue to encourage the students to study hard for a better future and keep on reminding them that education is the key to success.

1.7 CONCLUSION

Living Hope Group expresses its sincere gratitude to River Fund Team in United States and the donors at GlobalGiving for their unwavering support and commitment.

Their contributions have made it possible for many children in Tororo and Bugiri to access quality education and improve their overall well-being. The impact of this support is evident in academic progress and personal development of the beneficiaries. The group deeply appreciates this partnership and looks forward to continued collaboration in empowering more children through education.

Thank you.

* Note from River Fund. We conducted a site visit in February 2026. We met with the leaders. We viewed receipts and book-keeping ledgers. Everything is in order.
