Meet Sharon.
Sharon is the first born in a family of 5, she is currently in form four (grade 12). Her parents depend on casual and domestic work for a living. They are both paid Ksh 250. ($ 2.5) per day. This means mean that all her siblings are not able to go to school at the same time and some basic needs cannot be met, these include Sharon's school fees.
We met Sharon through our school mentorship program. Our counsellors heard her story from classmates and decided to support her.The team visited Sharon's home and met with her parents. The reality of the situation was confirmed when the parents said that they had not paid rent of over 1 year.
Sharon was enrolled in our scholarship program, through the support of generous donors like you. Sharon will be graduating from high shcool next year in March.
The ongoing covid-19 pandemic has affected millions of school going children. Majority of them may never go back to school becuase of the effects of the pandemic. In Kibra slum (The second largest informal settlement settlement) school going students have been forced to step in and support their families get food on the table. As a result, most students have found themselves taking up responsibilities that should not be theirs.
Thank you for your continued support, this month we have supported 20 students to remain in school. These students will be supported the whole year with schools fees, school supplies and other basic items needed in school. This means that 20 lives will be transformed as result of your generous giving.
Thank you for kind support
