Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT) is a registered NGO that educates and empowers underprivileged children from the urban slums and supports them till they are gainfully employed. Our organization is 16 years old and we support 500 children from about 350 families thus raising the quality of life of more than 900 people in Bangalore slums. ACT is a transparent and efficiently run social organization in Bangalore, working towards the end-to-end needs of the underprivileged children, school education, early childhood development to English training, from proper nutrition ,good health by giving vaccinations to personality development, from livelihoods training, hobby activities, life skills training to job placements.

During the last quarter, In June which is the start of the school year we paid the fees for the children, gave them their school essentials and we involved them in a lot of extracurricular activities. We worked towards our goal with a lot of enthusiasm .We are sharing a few activities

  • On 23/6/2016 we took the children to visit to museum of art and photography where volunteers taught them all there is to know to appreciate art and learn photography.
  • On 25/6/216 and 3/7/2016 the local Bengali Association conducted an inter NGO competition in debates, art and music. Our children took part in the debate competition and the drawing competition and won the overall championship cup.
  • On 3/7/2016 the children attended a drama workshop at the famous Jagriti theater where they participated enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
  • On 5/8/2016 we started the one to one mentoring program by the PwC volunteers which is very helpful to the children.
