Update on Educate 50 children with disability

By Edyth Bones | Co-founder

Dear GlobalGiving Team and Supporters,

Warm greetings from Leroy Bones Foundation.

We are delighted to share an update on our "Educate 50 Children with Disabilities in Kenya" project. Thanks to your generosity and compassion, children who would otherwise be excluded from education are now receiving the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We are pleased to report that the project is currently supporting nine children to attend specialized schools where they receive education tailored to their individual learning needs.

In addition to quality education, these children benefit from structured learning environments, specialized teaching, and opportunities to develop skills that will help them become more independent. One story that truly reflects the impact of your support is that of Mary, a four-year-old girl who was on the verge of dropping out of school. Mary's mother is raising her alone and was no longer able to meet the cost of her specialized education. Without support, Mary faced losing access to the learning environment that had begun transforming her life. Because of donors like you, Mary has remained in school. She continues to learn alongside her peers, build her communication and social skills, and receive the specialized support she needs during these critical early years. For her mother, this support has brought renewed hope and reassurance that her daughter has a brighter future. While we celebrate this progress, we know there are many more children waiting for the same opportunity.

Our goal is to support 50 children, but financial constraints mean that many deserving families are still on our waiting list. Every additional sponsor brings another child into a classroom where they can learn with dignity and reach their full potential. We kindly invite you to continue supporting this project and to share it with your family, friends, and networks. Your contribution regardless of its size helps provide school fees, specialized educational support, learning materials, and hope to children who deserve the chance to succeed. On behalf of the children, their families, and our entire team, thank you for believing in inclusive education and for investing in a future where every child has the opportunity to learn.

warm regards,

Edyth Bones
