Educating 33 Children
We have so many beautiful stories about our student’s progress it is hard to choose just a few. Young Tissa will be 5 years old. His parents were concerned that he might not be accepted to a mainstream classroom. We are happy to announce that he has been accepted to a mainstream first grade from January 2020. According to his Mom he aced the intake interview. As a child with CP he has a few mobility issues although they too have improved. When he has to practice walking with his walker he pretends to be a car. He is a joyful mischievous five-year old with a great imagination. Our education methods seek and nurture these aspects of a child’s personality while not neglecting his/her academic skills. We are confident that he will be a leader in his new classroom.
As we believe learning should be always fun, we try to make lessons fun.
Young Thesath graduated from our program in to a mainstream classroom in a regular school now.
We address sensory issues through various exercises on balance beams, swings etc. Ravi enjoys his time on a very especial swing. Since moving their bodies in a coordinated manner is hard for all our students, we have a dance class, we call it freestyle Bollywood dancing!
Recognizing our students need fun out of school as well as rigorous academics we are planning a trip to a safe beach. In the interest of nurturing family bonding we take the siblings along too. Where all of them will be able to enjoy, sun, sea and sand as well as good food!
Grateful thanks to Global Giving and the donors who help keep our unique cutting edge program afloat. You are changing the world for the most vulnerable and marginalized children and their families. Thank you
