Dear friends,

As the spread of Covid-19 continues in the North and Mekong delta of Vietnam, we have to keep depending on implementing our project activities in the coming time.

“Sun Flowers” Community Outreach Group is one of the preventive projects of AAT Vietnam, which started in 2002. The role of Peer Educators is to reach out into local communities of sex workers to learn about their problems, promote healthy behaviors, distributes condoms and informally discuss health and other problems. They also help enhance the sex workers’ access to social services in the community to reduce harmful aspects of prostitution and to support them find alternative livelihood.

Among the sex workers whom we reach out and support, a large number of them pregnant and have the child. Our Peer Educators introduce the prostitutes’ daughters/sisters to the Where Dreams Bloom program, which will both mentally and financially support the girls until they complete K-12 study.

We are honored to award the certificate of appreciation to recognize the hard work of our Peer Educators, who are dedicated and skilled social workers, mothers and women who want to make the world a better place for their peers.

In the upcoming time, we will update our training materials. Our team also partnered with Goodera, a popular volunteer platform, to seek for volunteers helping translate the training material into English.

As usual, we are grateful to have your support. Please email us at vnaction@allianceantitrafic.org if you have any concerns about the project and keep following our Facebook page to see our latest updates:  https://www.facebook.com/aatvietnam
