We held our first Campus BioBlitz of the year at the University of Nairobi's Upper Kabete Campus on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Alongside a group of passionate students, we explored local biodiversity, learned how to use the iNaturalist app and took our first steps into the world of Citizen Science. This marked the beginning of our Campus BioBlitz series. Our goal: to host 10 events across various universities by the end of the year and build up to a national BioBlitz competition in October and the Great Southern BioBlitz later that month.
In line with this vision, we hosted our second Campus BioBlitz at the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK) Centre for Tourism Training and Research on Friday, June 13th. It was an exciting afternoon spent exploring biodiversity alongside members of the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya and their lecturers. Participants received a hands-on introduction to Citizen Science, documented local species, and wrapped up the day with inspiring conservation mentorship sessions.
